Do You Hear What I Hear?
11/10/2005
I ranted that the holiday shopping season had come to soon. And it had. But what good would being irritated do me? Instead of fighting it, I've decided to embrace it--in honor of all those years that, as a child, I wished Christmas lasted longer.
Since music is the one thing that is sure to put me in a Christmas frame of mind, I began thinking about what I'd enjoy listening to right now. And this is what I came up with. My first-ever iMix on iTunes. It's called It's A Very Vintage Christmas! and it features all-time greatest holiday hits from the late '40s to the early '60s. Thirty-six songs in all! Songs by. . .
Dean Martin
Bing Crosby
Judy Garland
Burl Ives
The Chipmunks
Doris Day
Frank Sinatra
Gene Autry
The Andrews Sisters
Andy Williams
Harry Belafonte
Perry Como with the Fontaine Sisters
Eartha Kitt
Elvis Presley
Rosemary Clooney
and
Nat King Cole
When you listen to this iMix, you're sure to get into the Christmas spirit. Your heart may not swell with love for your fellow man, but you'll probably be in the mood for a festive beverage. Check it out!

Kathryn, The Daring One Says:
I listen to the Christmas music early too. I can't take it. I fight every day in November to not decorate. My justification is that we will be leaving for the last week in Dec to be with my folks. So I should get at least one extra week's use out of the decorations, eh? I guess I'll at least wait until they finish painting our house so I don't have to decorate twice.

Yeah, I'm in the same place. I went to Sam's Club last night and they were playing Christmas music. I started to hate it and then gave in. It was kinda nice. I still think it's a tad early.
Nice mix.

My family has banned me from listening to Christmas music prior to Thanksgiving. I have to wait till then to play.
Does listening to the Nutcracker, by Count Basie count?
